Would you like to join us for social afternoons of playing mah-jong? We play on a Tuesday afternoon from 2pm at Toller Porcorum Village Hall in the small committee room. Cost is £2 to cover the hire of the village hall and tea/coffee and biscuits. At present, there are about 10 of us and we would welcome new members to come and join us. The game is easy to learn and tuition is given until you feel confident. All our members were non-players when they joined and are happy to help teach new players. The game is played with tiles and is mainly a game of luck with an element of skill. There are four players to a table and you play for yourself so no need to worry about your skill level.
All are welcome, ladies and gentlemen of all ages and children over 10 years. Feel free to come along for a taster session if you wish. There is free parking at the hall and membership is not restricted to residents of Toiler. We would love to see anyone from Hooke or other villages coming along. Please contact me if you would like any more information.
Meetings begin with a half an hour of ‘business’ followed by an educational talk by a guest speaker on various topics.
Tea/Coffee and a chat follow with the monthly competition, the raffle and ‘Bring and Buy’ stall.
New members always welcome.
